Your contribution helped us to ‘Share the Joy’
We would like to thank all that partnered with us in our 2010 Toys ‘n’ Tucker appeal. Thousands of families throughout Sydney and the Illawarra had a special Christmas thanks to the generosity of Toys ‘n’ Tucker supporters.
• Over 344 businesses, schools, parishes and youth groups collected food and gifts to help those less fortunate
• Almost $5,000 worth of toys was purchased through our Simply Giving online site
• In excess of $18,000 was raised to provide Christmas Tucker Cards for our clients
As a result, almost 3,700 children were able to wake up to exciting gifts on Christmas morning and around 2,500 families were provided with food hampers throughout Sydney and the Illawarra.
Donated goods were taken to our Hamper Packing warehouse in Mount Druitt where volunteers, students and drivers worked tirelessly to, sort, pack and distribute Christmas food and gift hampers to needy families.
Your partnership was vital in enabling us to offer care and support to thousands of struggling families in our community – families who will never be able to thank you personally. We would like to thank you on their behalf. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone that participated in the program and assure them that their generosity helped make a real difference to many at Christmas.
We hope you will partner with us again in 2011.

Launching a helping hand for the needy
ANGLICARE’s 2009 Toys ‘n’ Tucker program was officially launched on Tuesday 10 November.
ANGLICARE staff, volunteers and supporters from schools and parishes gathered at our hamper-packing headquarters in Mt Druitt.
Guests were given a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Toys ‘n’ Tucker campaign, culminating with a tour of the warehouse and a demonstration of the hamper-packing process.
ANGLICARE’s Director of Community Care, Dr Ian Jackson said requests for help increased 29 per cent in June and July, compared with the same period in 2008.
“Many of the individuals and families we see feel excluded from their communities due to a complex mix of factors including unemployment and poor housing and other barriers such as illness or disability”.
“Toys ‘n’ Tucker will remove a little bit of the strain this Christmas,” said Dr Jackson.
With the help of Sydney Anglican parishes, ANGLICARE aims to provide over 2500 food parcels and gifts for more than 3700 children this year.
